Moving in Grenoble

Grenoble's public transportation network is called Tag. It consists of 4 streetcar and 28 bus lines. A map of the network is available here. Streetcar lines are the quicker and most convenient way to move in downtown Grenoble.

You may also want to rent a car. A number of rental agencies are located inside or just next to Grenoble's railway station (ADA, Europcar, Hertz, National Citer, Rent a Car, Self'Car)

Venues

The Minatec Site

Minatec came into existence at the instigation of CEA-Leti Grenoble and INP Grenoble (INPG). Its ambition is to become Europe's top centre for innovation and expertise in micro and nanotechnology.The project combines a physical research campus with a network of companies, researchers and engineering schools from INP-G (e.g. ENSERG).

  • Minatec's main hall and lecture room is Enactive/07's central venue. It will host oral and poster sessions, workshops, stands and lunches. The conference's registration desk will be located in the hall.
  • The INPG-ENSERG building will host the "Touch the Future" exhibition.

Grenoble's Maison de la Culture - MC2: & Conservatoire National de Région

Grenoble's Maison de la Culture - MC2: supports artistic creation and production at national and international level. It features 4 concert halls, ranging from 1000 seats to 250 seats, theatre, danse and music recording studios.Inaugurated by Andr&eacture Malraux in 1968, the building has been totally renovated since and re-opened in 2004 with a new name and renewed artistic and cultural ambitions. MC2: host three national creation centers:

  • the Centre chorégraphique national de Grenoble (dance), directed by Jean-Claude Gallotta
  • the Centre dramatique national des Alpes (theatre), directed by Laurent Pelly
  • Les Musiciens du Louvre - Grenoble, directed by Marc Minkowski
MC2: will host Wednesday, November 21st evening's live performances.

Grenoble's Conservatoire National de Région will host evening live performances on Monday, November 19th and Tuesday November 20th.

Streetcar line A - 'MC2 - Maison de la Culture' station
The Maison de la Culture is visible from the streetcar station.

Fort de la Bastille

Le Fort de la Bastille is Grenoble's most visited site.This stronghold, whose higher point is 200 m above Grenoble, offers a splendid view on the whole city and the surrounding mountains. By clear wheather, you'll be able to see Mt Blanc from there. La Bastille has innumerable tunnels, casemates, staircases and other hidden places; it features exhibition rooms which will host the majority of the interactive installations selected for Enaction_in_Arts.

How to get there:

La Bastille is directly served by a cable car. The station is located on the Isère river southern bank. The site is also accessible by car, by a very steep and narrow road.

Streecar line A/B: 'Hubert Dubedout' station. Cross Grenette Square, then Grenoble's central park (Jardin de Ville) to reach the cable car station.
